A solid eighteen carat yellow link bracelet.  This is a superb and very rare heavy double box link Victorian chain with fabulous details. Since the maker used eighteen carat gold it has a beautiful warm colour to it, and feels great on the wrist. The bracelet is closed through a classic, but exceptionally rare, oversized dog clip clasp. A detail in itself. 

These types of clips were always seen on pocket watch chains in order to easily clip on, and off, the pocket watch.  However, clips this dramatic in size are almost never seen.  Along with this fabulous detail, there is also the original T-bar fitting.  This is not the exceptional part.  How this is integrated into the chain is.  There is an independent junction link that connects this T-bar to the continuation of the chain.  Normally this is done by simply adding extra links down off a main link on the watch chain.  The T-bar also has a beautiful and interesting chain patten that connects it to the main chain.  The T-bars were used to fit through a specially made button hole on a waist coat, or vest, or also through a lapel button hole.  All of which were designed to keep the expensive, and essential, pocket watch safe from unwanted sticky fingers.

There is a couple a hallmark; a gold assay mark of "18" on the inside of the dog clip clasp and it has been tested throughout for eighteen carat gold. The bracelet measures just over eight inches long all the way to the outer edge of the dog clip, and is a solid weight of nearly thirty grams, and the links are 5.6mm thick.  The T bar link that comes off the bracelet measures a drop of two and a half inches off the main bracelet.

Overall, this is a stunning and super quality, antique, high carat gold bracelet, European made, circa 1890's.
